Kada remedy for cold and cough

Well friends you all know there is an event going in my blog " Home made remedy recipes " for this my first entry is kada. It is traditional North Indian remedy for cold and cough. You can make it and store it in refrigerator for one week. It is pretty tasty though. It gives you a sort of relief from sore throat, unblocks your nose, decongests your chest, and provides some relief from cough. Recipe for 1.5 cups: 3 cups water 1.5 inch of ginger pound or grated or sliced fine 4 cloves 1 inch Cinnamon 5 green cardamom 7 black pepper corns (coarsely ground) 2 tbsp of Fennel seeds 1 tsp Cumin seeds 1 tbsp sugar Directions: Boil all the ingredients together until water reduces to half the original volume. Strain and drink HOT. If you want to add more taste, mix a little milk (about 2 tbsp for 1 cup kada). You can also add tea leaves & milk into it and drink it like masala chai. How to make delicious soft bread buns with self rising flour?

We can play with the bread bun recipe. Every one has their own version of making them. I had experimented with different kinds of recipes and came out with my own recipe which is perfect for making soft buns. These buns are perfect for making sandwich/tea time snack. I love self rising flour and its uses, I had already posted pan cakes and cake with self rising flour. It is very easy to use and yields very fruitful results. You know the best item to purchase for kitchen during thanks giving is Crock pot, I got it just for $10 and now it is $29. Though I did not have any idea how to use it, I just got it to experiment. When I told about this slow cooker to my mom, she immediately told me to make this biryani. She also said that in good olden days they used to prepare this way. Dhokla with the readymade flour available in the market

Dhokla is one of the dish I always wanted to try, this time I bought some ready made dokla flour form the "Patel brothers" one of the Indian grocery store in our near by area. The ingredients on the pack say that it contains besin (Gram flour) and rice flour. I was little confused, about the kind of ingredients that goes into the recipe. Later I did a little research and came up with my own recipe. It worked, dokla came out wonderfully. I never tasted dokla before, but now after making this yummy and healthy Indian flour cakes, I regret for not tasting them before. Form now dokla always stays in the weekly snack menu of our home. I feel so dumb sometimes, because I bought dokla flour but forgot the fact that I do not have dokla plates. If your case is same like me, give me "high-5"!! Y ummy !!! I love these yummy pin wheels, I wanna make it little healthy way so I avoided cheese..They came out really good with crispy and little with Indian taste. We finished it in no time!!!!
